Glass or Laminate
…the common "cents" of it…
Not seeing is believing in the case of our almost invisible and finest non-glare glass. Try out our new Museum Glass, and you'll "not see" what we're talking about.
Our other glass and plexiglass products are all conservation as well. We do, however, have reservations about the use of plexiglass because it is so easily scratched, when cleaning or handling. It is also much more expensive than glass. Sometimes, with a large piece of glass, weight is an issue, and as safety always comes first, we will recommend the use of plexiglass in that circumstance.
If you are framing a large piece that is not an original or a limited edition, we are very enthusiastic about a high quality laminate product we apply here in the shop. It is almost weightless, ultra violet protective, available in canvas or matte finish, and has absolutely no glare. A wonderful option for the same price as regular conservation glass.
